The Metroplex Christian Hockey Association (MCHA) is Christian-led outreach ministry dedicated to sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ with the ice hockey community by building camaraderie in the midst of a great hockey experience.
For nearly 20 years, MCHA operated an independent adult hockey league called the Integrity Hockey League (IHL). Started in 2006, IHL grew from just a few teams to over 35 teams in 6 skill divisions with over 600 players participating. This growth and scale lead to a strategic partnership decision to merge the IHL with the Dallas Stars Children’s Health StarCenters and form the Stars Premier Adult Hockey League (SPAHL) in September 2024.
The StarCenter team manages SPAHL hockey operations (registration, scheduling, etc.), while MCHA focuses on ministry equipping through our ministry coordinator, chaplains, and MCHA captains, as well as organizing charitable and service events. MCHA board members and the StarCenter executive team collaboratively curate the SPAHL to maintain a great hockey experience through proactive leveling and maintaining heightened standards of conduct for players.
With programs ranging from competitive to novice divisions, SPAHL continues the MCHA heritage of providing a safe and fun environment for the ice hockey player, their family and friends. Although MCHA is a Christian-led organization, everyone regardless of their faith is welcome to play on MCHA-led teams in the SPAHL and to participate in MCHA charitable and service events.
MCHA is registered as a non-profit 501c3 with the IRS, and is a registered partner of TAHA. A copy of the organizational by-laws can be accessed here:
